So the DII was put on a transport and shipped from Katherine to Sydney because of the lack of a dealer network.

All the faults mentioned are mechanical, (even the ECU caused by a faulty illconceived sealing system).
The defence of Electronics rests.
I wish they could fix all the crappy mechanical stuff that goes wrong so all I need to take (WRT spare parts and diagnosis) on my long outback trips are my PDA with diag software and a few discrete electronic components.
