Absence of proof is not proof of absence:angel:
I lived over near the Canadian Rockies for a while and up there they have Pumas (no not Defers) or Cougars (not the ones at the pub) or Mountain Lions what ever you want to call them. No Canadian that I spoke to had ever seen one in the wild, yet they still have them. They occsionally get too close to town and are found under someones deck bailed up by the dogs. So despite the lack of sightings they do occasionally get seen, photographed and caged.
It is impossible to prove that something does not exist but on the balance of probability I'd say that there are some bloody big feral cats on those videos.
I was just down the back and I saw one walk past the back fence in the bush! Seriously!:lol2::lol2::lol2::alien:
Black leopard to be exact........
And guess what.... they are native to Australia
want to know more....
Ask Bruce Dupe in Anglesea.....
He has more info that most will ever get, as do the Tooronga Zoo.
There may be something around as there are some big feral cats around without being Puma's or Panthers. I have shot feral cats the size of a Staffy and have seen a tabby cat pelt that was 5 foot long. Hung on the wall in a shop in Kalgoorlie for a long time.
But until there is some sort of authenticated photo or video I am a bit doubtfull. Its amazing how many people have apparentlly seen these cats but there has only ever been 1 clear photo out of hundreds taken and even that could have been set up. Anyone who knows anything about photography will know how easy it is to blur a photo and make the subject look much bigger than it actually is, especially when ther is no scale.
I want to believe but until I see one for myself or see decent proof I am a bit doubtful.
Bugger me was that a Yowie that just walked past my window.
I am sceptical of the sightings , however I have spoken to the NSW Ag. vet who was assigned to check out the Blue Mountains sightings.
He was and is convinced that there is a very large feral cat there or maybe panther, as he had sighted scats which were much larger than he had ever seen by a feral cat.
It seems strange in these modern times that someone cannot find some scat and do a DNA test to prove the panther theory once and for all. After all councils are now using DNA tests to ID dog crap.
You do not have to see an animal to know it has been there. They all have to crap sometime.

There's been a few reported out the back of Penrith over the years.
Here's proof, a picture of a big black Panther
