    Snatch strap.

Hey guys what is the safest way to half the length of a snatch strap?

I use the pin in my tow bar to connect it to the disco and there is a recovery point on the front of the zook not the back and when i lay it on its side i just use the chassie rail.(im sure a snatch strap isn't the safest thing to recover a vehicle from a roll but its only a light little zook. So i am asking this as i managed to lay the zook on its side where i couldn't get the disco next to it to pull it back over so i had to pull the front end around then pull it over. But if there were some safe way of doubling the snatch strap over itself i would like to hear it

    Cheers in advance!

You can't just double it over and put both eye-ends through the tow pin, and shackle the loop to the chassis rail?

    (question - not suggestion)

The two eyes wont fit in the tow bar, But mid typing this i have come up with an idea...

Maybe i could put the folded section in the tow bar and Shackle the two eyes together around the back of the chassie rail!?

Would that be a reasonable and safe option?

I'm not sure the folded loop would go in

the other option is,, seeing its only a zook,,
eye in slot and just wrap the strap around the chasis rail,,

do enough turns and friction should hold it long enough to pull it over,, worth a shot and no damage will occur,,

Cheers ill try that option as then i should be able to vary the length easily . And i do have to pull it back onto the rubber side a fair bit as its just a basher so i am not afraid to lay it over!

I have done this in the past and it worked fine for me. Although the folded loop is wider than a single loop fits in really easily. Just one thing though, with the strap doubled it becomes twice as stiff, ie less elastic. Not a problem with what you're doing though.
