Wot U seighin, is you'd thinkin we aint bean lerned proppa! Cum wrown me playce n eighl shown U whoos bean lerned bestest.

I rather think that, if people want a literary forum then they should go to one. Some members on AULRO have English as a second language, others come here from places where the rubber things on our wheels are spelt "tire" (including those who are still in countries where they are tires) and still others are dyslexic or have had learning disadvantage through their lives. While Ron and others (myself included) have fun with grammatical and spelling errors we do it with a spirit of fun and humour.

IMHO Personally I would rather have the bredth of fellowship of Land Rover friends, with the poor literacy than have some grammar Nazi supervising all our input.

You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.

No matter what suggestions Firefox or Spellchecker may throw up, if the poster isn't literate & doesn't know which word to select, what is the point?

    but,

not everyone has the same education level (or care factor for that matter). At the end of the day it might bug some people, but is it really that important given this is a LR forum and not the "Are you smarter than a 5th grader" show. As Harry said "sow wot"

Same... it's not exactly a professional forum but a place where we come together to chat landrovers and unassociated crap.

Oooohhh look, when you do a search on "crap" this thread will come up again.
    Cheers

I don't know where you look on the internet, but I find this forum to be one of the better ones for spelling.

I'm an atrocious speller, always have been. Thankfully someone clever invented the spell checker. Even better yet, on a Mac, its built in for every text box

I also get a good laugh from the spelling police we have on AULRO.

Also you forgot to mention punctuation

I'm just after a bit of an understanding, not wanting to offend people

I'm no spelling Nazi and my grammar is far from perfect. I do re-read most of what I type though because I actually think what you say and how you say it reflects on you as a person. That's just me.

I think education level is a pretty poor excuse. I know people with no better than year 10 education who can spell better than your average uni graduate.

I have a couple of questions and comments regarding this post I don't mean to be picky but...

Firefox has a spellcheck built in. I'm sure I.E. does too. Why don't people use them? < Obviously for the same reason as you as it is "spell check" or it can also be written as "spell-check"
One last thing i would of loved to of seen you proof read the post over and over to prevent these mistakes
