Well mines a D1 but I thought I'd join in anyway
I call it Land Rover, Disco, bus
My mates call it the battleship/ the bathub or Trolly
My Neighbour called it the Exxon Valdez until I fixed the oil leak (Well reduced to an acceptable level)

When I had a Disco calling it my "4wd or my car" seemed appropriate. My current Freelander is always called my car - definitely not a truck or rig, for my series 1s, I think my 4wd is appropriate - though my Mum still calls them Jeeps:mad:, however calling my 101 "my car" does not seem to work, "4wd" fits as does "Truck" (even though it probably doesn't meet the definition) so I think the terminology used is relative to the vehicle and its use.
For a D2 I think "my 4wd or Car" is appropriate - definitelty not a truck but if it were towing a trailer or van etc then when in that configeration - "rig" might also work for me.
