If I am reading this right .... You are NOT insured??? ;)

Yes I am insured - full comprehensive - so that is not a problem at all.
I guess I was thinking from the other angle and not engaging my brain in gear... Sitting in neutral and wondering why I am not going anywhere.
So the question then remains
"So should I push for a replacement bar, ARB or TJM or should I just ring and see what happens?" " With my insurer that is"
You tell your insurance company what you want .... and then they send the bill to her insurance company
They only have to repair the damage or ... "replace" it if the damage is beyond "reasonable repair" .... You can't ask for what you are not entitled to ... But you can ask for a "reasonable substitute" if the original is unavailable
Which I doubt ... Given that wreckers will always have a replacement part ... "equal to the age & condition" of the part that is in question
Food for thought

Thanks for that NM, I was stationary.... not even in the carpark when it happened... I got the dreaded "Do you own a red Landrover" question asked of me.... and when you here that your mind just conjures up all sorts of devastating things... So yes she has admitted guilt and with this admission I am hoping that it won't be a problem.
At least (I hope) I won't have any excess on my claim.
So here is hoping that my insurer will payout or I am going to be very, very, very annoyed and broke.
So does anyone have any angles on how to get the best result out of this?
When some has "bingle" with me ... the first thing I do when they say "Sorry about that mate" ... is I pull out a piece of paper & a pen and start with the words
"OK ... I'll need your drivers lic & address for the insurance claim" .... And then I start writing on the paper
I ... Joe Smith (their name) of (their address) at the time of (clock time) was driving a (model of their car + reg number) & reversed into the back of (model of your car + reg number) and I, Joe Smith, accidental HIT IT and had caused damage to the vehicle
You get "them" to sign it / Date it / write their drivers licence number / contact phone number ... in their own handwriting
This must be done as it all unfolds ... cause after that ... they may not be so apologetic
When you have that .... You have no further issues :)
Will your insurance company charge you an excess? If not give the problem to them to resolve.
You will only be able to get the costs of the repair towards any other bar that you might want to fit.
If you read fine print on policy you see that her insurance co wont accept her admission of responsiblity,:( do you have any independent witnesses? This standard in all australian policies.
She's hit a stationary, unattended car in a large open area. It wasn't Noddy's or Big Ear's fault. IT WAS HERS
Spoke to her today and all is good with her admitting fault. Now if I can get the $$$ from what the repair bill would be and get a decent bar.
To start the debate....
Should I
1. Modify the grill etc... and put on a ARB Sahara Bar
2. Get a Standard ARB winch Bar
or
3. Get a TJM Winch Bar
No argument from me but we all know what insurence co are like. They can say she is not qualifed to make that judgement on their behalf.Insurence co can make simple things very complicated if they wish.
