This is one of those curly subject where the answer is so dependent on so many variables:
- Where you live.
- What technology you are using.
- What you use it for.
- Which plan you use with that supplier
- etc etc etc
- Even how long you have been with them
I am using Optus cable..... Have been since 2001. I had Telstra cable before that.
I am really happy with what I have.... partly because I am still on an old plan that has not been available for many years.... low cost lots of data no uploads counted.
As far as outages go, I have had a total of 6 - 7 outages that we have noticed in that whole 8 years!..... I'm certainly not complaining....1 of those was caused by a doofus in our street driving a prime mover under low slung lines and ripping out the cable !
That said, I don't need much upload bandwidth ... so cable works for me. Others that need higher upload bandwidth should look elsewhere. ( i.e. online gamers)
Personally I wouldn't touch Optus' newer plans with a 40 foot pole... compared to their older offerings - they stink.
So while I'm happy with what I've got.... I could understand many others that use their internet differently from me not being at all happy with mine.
