Mine cost me around $250 as I got the bar modified, the winch itself was on the front of a police cruiser and cost me nothing. :D:D

normally they sell on ebay from around 700-1000 in working condition with controller.
I have bought 3 over the years, one was an ex tow truck which was completely worn out for $200 (it still worked) the next was on the front of a troopie, that hit a tree for $100. I built 1 from 2, and it was like new when finished.
The 3rd one, i bought from a wrecker for $500, but i had to take the GQ patrol winch bar, cb aerials and ciebe oscars aswell. :(

They are well worth it.
I originally had 2 XP's on the 90, as I thought Hi Mounts (8274's) were too noticeable.
About a month later I swapped the front bar and got an 8274.
Wished I had 2 now, but the rear is too much work to have a normal load area.
There have been a few changes over the years.
They stared out as a Bellview, and then were bought by Warn, who released a 8074 then 8274.
The 8274 stands for
8 - 8000 pounds.
2 - two directional, power in and power out
74 - 1974
The later ones had the control lead plug on the side of the solenoid box (when the name was changed to 8274-50)
they also were upgraded from the 2.5hp to the 4.6hp motor around that time.
They can be fitted with the XP motor, which is widely regarded to give them a 10000 pound capacity.

And a lot better loaded line speed.
The XP motor is 6hp, though if that motor is making 6hp then there is no way in the world that the 4.6hp is making 4.6hp.
Most of the comp 4WD's around the world seem to run the Himount with a 6hp, probably with the exception of the winch challenge trucks which run 2x 6hp motors onto the winch.
through which some of them then pump 24v:o:o:D
Let me know what you want and I'll take a pic/s
