    couldnt have said it better. i like Billy Connollys thoughts. Anyone who wants to be in politics should be automatically banned from politics.

    Good friend of mine is standing for a local council by-election.
    We all went "why ?" but she'll be good at it.
    The best part is her partner hates all politicians and rails against them at any opportunity, to the point that everyone is scared to mention it around Jon.
    Of course now, he'll be sleeping with one if she gets elected.

    I certainly can't claim that this is original (and it may have been printed on this forum)..................but they say that the word "politics" comes from the greek "poly" (meaning "many") and tics (meaning "ticks").........

    With no upper house, the opposition is not even needed!
    Still, the electorate has spoken as you say, so we have to be happy now with the state of affairs.
