'Nuther vote for "Kelly Heros", also "Battle of Britain" & "Zulu", Much as I like "633 Squadron" the special (?) effects are lamentable. I like any films that feature Mossies though, my uncle was killed in 1943 flying with 464 (Australia) Squadron.

Battle of Britain is a great movie and there is an excellent doco about the making of the movie.

If you ever get a chance to watch it, it’s well worth it.

They made the movie about 1969 and had a hard time finding enough Spitfires and the likes but they had all the German aircraft they needed and all in full working order, they were still in use in the Spanish air force.

I'm (pleasantly) gobsmacked at how many people have mentioned my favourite, Kellys Heroes. I thought I was going to be the first to suggest it.

Apocalypse Now is another fave. Loved Zulu Dawn. Speaking of Michael Caine how about "The Last Valley" - set in France during the Crusades(?)

Also a little know gem was Oliver Reed in "Hannibal Brooks" about an English POW who was a keeper in a german zoo. After a bombing raid that destroys the zoo he take the Elephant across the Alps to Switzerland.

Some of my favourites have been mentioned - Where Eagles Dare and Tears of the Sun.

Also up there for me is Heartbreak Ridge (Eastwood) and Shooter (this is not really a war movie)

    Cheers

Just my opinion, but Saving Private Ryan was badly let down by it's director.
    The ending was atrocious.

Some excellent film making undone by a man who has no idea of subtlety.

Or maybe he just thinks we are all too dumb to get it ?

    What 'other' Graham Kennedy ??

There was only one, 'The King'

Saw that movie far too many times.
Unfortunately a lot of the cast are no longer with us, and I think it was filmed around Cannungra.
