    Wyong NSW..... nice or Ghetto

    Guys,
Mate is investing a few bob in a flash resort type place in Wyong...
Anyhow cut a long story short... I've been told i may have a property for use up there if i want it.

So what i want to know.... is Wyong a nice spot, or is it just a run down coastal town?
i was looking at factories and the cost of a 200sqm facco is not that much. and i tend to judge property value as an indication on what is a good area to live.

How far travel time to Sydney and Newcastle

Is it a good area for work, or is work scarse for a Trady?

I know the Parks are close... Yeah BABY...

Clarkie.... Victorian and still here after 38 years

Well I live at Avoca Beach south of Terrigal.

There are some nice areas around Wyong, like Chittaway Bay. Tuggerah just south has a BIG shoppingtown so SWMBO would be happy.

Wyong itself can flood and surely you saw the youtube of the hilux driving along Wyong Rd with water over his screen!!!

Most of the area around Wyong itself is reclaimed swamp.

There is an (expensive) Rover parts guy there, and H Bruce Gibbs one of the best interior guys in the world. A car he did won Pebble Beach.

Used to be lots of tradie work with the mines and there are 2 big power stations nearby.
given the choice I would not live at wyong itself, but there are lots of nice areas around there.

    Regards Philip A

What Phillip said - and Wyong is not a coastal town - it must be about 10k inland.

In my view it is part of the "westie" area of the Central Coast - it does have a big 4wd wrecker though - but they refuse to wreck Land Rovers but do anything else.

And you have lived there for how long?

I used to work there, not a bad place at all. In my experience there is more of an fwit ratio in the Capital's CBD than in Wyong. It is not a bad place to live.

There are rumour's of an open cut mine being built in the local area. Better check that out before commiting

Wyong has a Centrelink office, if that helps. Don't know if the clientele is predominantly geriatric, feral, or stupidly fertile.

I lived on the Central Coast for about 10 years, spent my teenage years there actually. To put it bluntly I hate the place, lost a number of good friends to heroin, the good friends I still have who I grew up with now live elsewhere.

In life you can look back and say to yourself "Yep, that was a good decision". Leaving the Central Coast and giving up smoking are two I remember because my life is better for it.

But this is just my experience, I'm sure other people have quite good memories of the place.
