thanks guys, its a kinda nice feeling knowing you can stick to the big boys ;) but they were imposing opposition and they flexed really well, so its was a good job to everyone.
what set up is it. not that fancy really.
31/10.5/15 muddies on 15x7 sunnies
rear coils - only about 2 inch raised - 17 inch long 220lb coils with a 30mm spacer
front coils -I think they are prob around 160-180lb coils on 2 inch spacers
some super long shocks. approx 25inch fronts and not sure about the rears, havent measured them but at a guess they are around the 29 inches with 2 inch dropped top mounts.
rear cranked trailing arms
soft rubber bushes (poly is way too inflexible imo)
super long brake lines
no sway bars (they werent oe anyway)
thats about it, nothing special really. I didnt do all the work on the suspension, I bought it pretty much this way but have changed a few things myself and it all seems to work well together, it has a nice balance when fully flexed. some 4x4's are either too hard in the front or the rear and they dont 'balance' very well. I am lucky my set up works so well together.
I think the rear end is greatly helped by the factory link set up and the front by the extra long shocks and soft coils.
LR got it right the first time and its still a bit of a secret amongst the cruiser and patrol fraternity, lets keep it that way ;)
yeah Pete, I rubbed it in. I dont think they believed me. They probably spent twice that just on their suspension & tyres. most had 6 inch coils, drop boxes or cranked radius arms, long trailing arms etc etc and HUGE dick cepek or centipede muddiesQuote:
