As others have said, get a full check up for your own peace of mind.

No age is too young to have problems, my first heart problems started at 16 and had surgery at the same age. Had been given the all clear and just last year I had a small heart attack at the ripe old age of 21 - totally unexpected, no prior symptoms.

Curiously, it is common to have what is thought to be cardiac type pain, but can in fact be esophageal spasming and this can be common under intense exercise according to a few reputable medical journals (just been doing cardiac at uni the last few weeks ), all the involuntary muscles are innervated by branches of the same nerve so messages can get a bit mixed.

ANYWAY - see your GP for a checkup and they can refer you for further testing if necessary given they'll know your full history better than any of us can!

By look of your avatar your heart rate is way over what is should be anyway. Hey - if your not able to MTB ride less than 37, maybe you should be getting out a bit more. At 52y am competing in MTB riding.

At your age you should get a full medical check every year. However you can keep mountain biking, unless your doctor tells you something ios wrong, though you may have to slow down a bit on the Bike.
I had a older friend, pastor George Rollo, a Seventh-day Adventist, now deceased at 87 Years old, who ran the city to surf when he was 83 years old. He had a heart murmer, so his Cardiac Surgeon son ran along side him just in case he had a problem during the race. George Rollo said I came about ten-thousandth but at least I finished, when he told us about this. George Rollo took young people skining in his late 70's, skiing with a widow Hazel Hon, who was older than him.
Paul Bragg died while surfing in a accident in Hawiai in his late 90's.
I read of one Seventh-day Adventist woman who gave up running Marathons at 103 years old, because she had no competition in her age bracket.
Another american Seventh-day Adventist woman still ran ten miles a day at 109 when she stopped running [Medical Surveys have shown that Seventh-day Adventists live 6 extra years to the general Population, and up to 20 extra years. This is on a average, and some die much younger.].
    Just my thoughts.
