whats the go if the police man does not fill the ticket out correctly, i.e. spelt myu surname incorrectly
i heard that if there is a mistake on the ticket than there is a chance you can get off
by the way i was guilty but the buggers booked tho others while i was being booked....U Turn at a set of lights
U-turn at an intersection with traffic lights is unlawful (unless there's a sign that says you can) - as of the Australian Road Rules 1999.
If there's a 'minor' error on the notice, such as spelling or the time of offence (a few minutes either side) then it'll stand. For a ticket to be dismissed, ther'd have to be a significant error such as the wrong rego, name and licence number.
Errors can come to the attention of the issuing officer and amended by attaching report to the ticket before it gets sent off to be put on the system or filed.
It's pretty common for other offences to occur in eyesight of Police speaking with someone and it looks really unfair but the 'one thing at a time rule' prevails.... otherwise you'd be chasing your bum all day long
Sorry mate but it sounds like it'll stick
Matt.
They are allowed to make mistakes, we are not. It used to get you off but they changed the law, sorry.
If you don't like trucks, stop buying stuff.
no...was not in the defender, thats what happens when you are in somebody elses car, pouring rain, southside of, not local to the area, didn't see the big yellow sign that indicated a u-turn could be done 150m up the road....she did pick up the lunch bill
oh well $80 into the qld gov bank account and 1 point
U-turn at the lights? We only ever see it done in NSW by bloody Victorians and Qlders. Pretty scary when you don't expect it.

Can't say about Victoria, but u-turns at lights in Qld are forbidden except where specifically signed as permitted. Sometimes the sign is at the lights but sometimes a distance away saying U-turns permitted at lights ahead. Usually permitted u-turns are in locations where traffic islands and median strips have limited access to properties such as along Creek Road at the Richmond Rd. intersection where police once upon a time issued ticket after ticket but u-turns are now permitted after agitation by locals.
