Seems there is a local shortage of mechanics over there. 2 franchised Land Rover dealerships in Brisbane are currently advertising over here in the UK for mechanics.

I have had nothing but good service, friendly attitude, and they are very cost competive. Now taking the D3 to them for service and repairs.

Warren and the boys have always got back with an answer to my many questions that LR just couldnt seam to handle.

I'll join the chorus, yep I'm a fan too.

I have had one problem, which debatedly was just coincidence, but even though they were confident they had not caused the issue they still spent close to two hours diagnosing the problem without a booking, and didn't charge me.

Can't ask for more than that.

Funny thing is when I spoke to their competitors in Brisbane about a snorkel or the suspension place I popped into yesterday they know about MR, refer to them as Land Rover nuts and compliment their skills.

For example, a 4WD shop in Ennogerra gave me a quote for a snorkel about $40 more than MR Auto, for the same snorkel. They did not believe someone could do it that much cheaper until I said it was MR, then they said that those guys can do the job twice as fast as we can, and gave up trying to sell me the snorkel. He didn't even bother printing the quote.

The Camel Box's are 2000 Uk, alot of money, so iam going to draw up some plans and have one custom made to sit in the Tub, at the rear just past the axle, the base will sit on the floor of the tub, and the sides on the side of the tub, both sides to have doors on, inside to have space for other bits and bobs

as i plan to crash in the back when i go camping rather than creating more drag by wacking a roof tent on top.
I noticed the camel boxes produced by nene overland seem to have a crap departure angle, or are you using the original tub as a base ?

could you not utilise the tub itself and build up from there as its in situ already that would save you heaps, then you just have to go to a coach builder for a top that marries up with the lip of the tub to the top box, and either do it so it is removable or not depending upon your requirements, looks like the ones shown in Neneoverland adverts (peterborough, cambs, u.k.) are cut down tubs the departure angle is identical.
So Juddy if you have plans to flog your canvas once the work is completed give me a shout would you if its reasonable condition and price i might well be interested other than that i will go see my raeme mates

I have used them for all parts and stuff like fitting of the diff locks etc since we got our car. I think they charge a fair price for a job done properly. They were recommended to me by a friend who has been using them for a long long time.

I expect that they will make mistakes now and then as they are human but they will remain the only place that I will take my car other than the dealer despite the very inconvenient location for me (no public transport so have to be ferried there and back).

I am agonising over whether to get them to do the 4 year service as I know they will be cheaper and do a better job. However it might lesson my claim for help from LR if something big needs doing. Decisions decisions...

I kind of look at it from a slightly different angle - if you get the dealer to do your servicing, something big might very well happen and need rectifying - so you might then need help from LR!

It's just a vehicle - get someone competent to service it like MR and there is no reason why you should have some magical issue crop up out of the blue.
