Now I wonder why so many people from South Africa emigrtates.
Crime is all over but much less all over.
We are only just beginning to have those episodes here,,
stuff still gets stolen,,
but not much person to person violence ,,
not considering the population,,
Nobody escapes theft here.
Not even members of the newly lected goverment.
Last week a MEC (Member of the excecutive comitee) had her fancy Merc stolen/hijacked in her driveway of her house. She resigned due to the not following protocol of having the vehicle fitted with the necesary alarm systems. She was told it was. All was blamed on her mistakes but no mention was made about the general crime ratios and that the policing here is not sufficient. This is rich people. The very poor suffers even more person to person violence. For me all comes down to what the powers to be are prepared to do or to what extremes they are prepared to go to.
Ask any South African living in Australia and you will hear simmilar stories.
I'm not sure what the average Aussie can do for your Country Rudolf,,
Like most world troubles,, its lack of info that keeps us unaware--.
I had my Kwaka stolen ... it was chained up outside where I was living in Sydney ... the police caught the bloke trying to start it down the road at some ungodly hour. How lucky was that?
When the cops knocked at the door & woke me up the bloke was already in the back of the paddy wagon. I felt pretty bad for him actually, so went & had a long conversation, asking him why he had decided to try to steal my bike ...
Austen Marten recovered at a nearby Casino Parking lot.
Some 30Km from where it was stolen.
I wonder why it was stolen in the first place.
