while this should be in the STOLEN GOODS forum, I can understand your concern and reasoning,,
Pics might help,,
We have, and its not a nice thing to happen. We want our vehicle back.
We are looking for any tips that may be of any help in recovering it.
The car has been gone for nearly two weeks now. We believe it is not a joy rider, rather someone who wants the car for parts/accessories. Some of the contents of the car were found in a dumpster in 12 Manton Road South Oakleigh VIC. We believe the car maybe somewhere in that near vacinity. If you have ever had any dealings with anyone in that area, could you please send me a personal message.
Again, any tips at all would be appreciated, we are getting desperate!
Cheers Dean

Looking at Google Maps, it looks like the block of land between 3 & 5 Manton Rd (across the road from 12) is the resting place of quite a few vehicles.
Good luck with your search but I fear the worst.

Bad news, good luck on it's recovery but from experience, the longer it's gone......the lower the chance of recovery.
I had a Volvo stolen a number of years ago, it was finally recovered 6 months later. The owner of the property where it had been dumped reported it to the police, who checked it out and said the number plates did not belong on the car but were not reported stolen; no further action! The correct rego could have been read on the still attatched label. The finder contacted me via a phone bill left in the car.
It's not just the loss of the car that's devistating, it's also the violation and loss of tools, papers et al.
Again, hope it is recovered and the scum caught.

Dont get to upset (if you're insured that is)
I've had 2 vehicles stolen, 1 written off (180+km/h impact with a Stobie pole and then through the front of a house)
And the other stolen, thrashed and stripped.. (Fully rebuilt by insurance)
I've also had 3 vehicles broken into and ransacked etc....
Plus a home invasion where all the vehicle keys were stolen etc.... (Was years ago, in a good neighbourhood in Adelaide)
You get over it...
Best not to dwell on the bad, but rather move forwards...
There is always scum on any pond, and they will always take what they could never own..
Yep had a few stolen and broken into.
Worst was a dato 1600. 3 weeks after it was stolen we got a call from a guy in Sydney who was sick of the police not moving it from his naturestrip.
We went up to get the car back and within minutes of opening the car had several police units surround the area. Turned out they had not moved the car due to all the weapons in the boot but had been waiting for who ever owned them to return.
hope you get it back good as new but fear you won't now.
look on ebay mate i had a bloke on the landrover owners international magazine(uk) forum saying he found his items dumped in a ditch but when he looked closer he found an ebay reciept he checked that out was checker plate for a landy defender, got the buyers address and it was 10 miles his house, the old bill went round but reckon it was on its way to africa or the middle east (i doubt that but...10 year old landy)
