Thread: LPG warning Labels help your fire fighters too

The stickers are available from ford spare parts as a kit. When we bought our dedicated gas Falcon unreg from Victoria (with no plates) I had some difficulty tracking down someone who knew where to get the stickers.

Yes I have heard they are a little tough to get and thanks for getting some. The decated AU wagon we bought near new had two cylinders and required two labels per number plate which makes sense but never knew until then.

I thought the stickers were manditory and came from the transport/registery office with and stuck onto the plates.

and the poprivet metal ons are evan better idea as you can see them if the cars on fire and before people start worrying they arnt that explosive aslong as they are well maintaind they will slowly vent if crushed or heat is aplyed

if you can not get a sticker localy from your local gas fitter who should carry them on the shelf you can pop rivet a 25mm square on its edge as a diamond this is also good as when a car is up in smoke you can also see it has a badge for gas as stickers can burn off . you can end up with a canary sticker on your window for not having the correct badges for the correct amount of gas tanks. more money to throw away for pit inspection and posiably a bigger list of repairs.

My local gas fitter has them in stock. They pop rivet the metal-backed ones to the numberplates.

The gas fitter should put the diamonds on the number plates (at least in NSW).

By the time the fire services get in scene one half is generally gone so the opposite plate can be seen at times but what happens when it catches fire after an accident and your blissfully unaware of the LPG just because it looked cool to the owner?? Nothing is simple hence the stickers or pop plates. Yes they should be there however when a car is re reg it does not get them automatically!!! Not the job of Vic Roads apparently to uphold their laws despite the vehicle being registered for LPG. It seems at odds with all who make the rules.
I hope some gas fitters see this and help promote this too.
