I got some Maxtrax for our trip up the Centre. Quite easy to store on the roofrack -easier than the longer steel ones I imagine.

Never had to use them but it was good to know they were up there. I just wish they weren't ORANGE ( theft magnet )

Main disadvantage of them is their much greater weight than the Maxtracks.

Ultimate suspension sells (at $15 ea from memory) A long hesian sack which packs into a very small space, and which you fill with whatever you're bogged in ,lay them in front of the wheels and drive out. Have you ever lifted both of them at the same time, there is not much in it and the X-Tracks pack away heaps smaller than Maxtrax.

Sand Trax Traction Mat - Dolium Pty Ltd

Another choice at $75 each from dolium. They are 1.2m long and can be joined.

I run a small business that has started making 4WD bog mats from recycled plastic. They're called PolyTrac, Size 1200 x 380mm. Raised traction cleats on both sides. We're just doing factory tests now, as we've only sold them into the heavy truck and crane industry, but they're doing great. I've also approached ARB to distribute them, but no reply yet.
