Perhaps it's the direction of the light.

However, if you look at the tie down rail, you'll see the camel's body pushing through the gap between the tub and the rail.

ie using the scale of the wheel (using the most likely size) , measure the gap between the wheel and guard and convert that to a measurement.

Using the average camel weight x4, and subtract a bit for worn.


*maybe I'll just take the Pic and ask the local DOT. They'll be able to give me an answer off the cuff!

Adult Camels weigh 300-600 kg. If we say the average weight of the Camels in the back of the vehicle is 400 kg (a couple of them are smallish, and none are large) then the all up weight is 1.6 tonnes, which is not a huge amount above the recommended carrying capacity.

Trestle railway bridge over Diogenes Creek on the railway up the Styx valley from Karanja, in Tasmania

This is a ghost now, as the wooden bridge was burnt down to make way for a road that now allow's the bush lovers in to see the trees in the Styx Valley.

It was a case of, they couldn't see the trees for the wood.
