The car being crushed I think was about a 37-38 Studebaker very similar to my Dad's 36 which we dumped because in the pre internet days you couldn't get parts for the stuffed gearbox.

One wonders about the pollution and asbestos in regard to air quality.

So despite the Nanny state I think we have come a long way since then.
