My dad had a 48 ford truck like that, thought it was pretty cool watching him change gears and flipping the switch on the 2 speed diff.
When my dad got his drivers licence, the instructor asked him if he wanted his chauffeurs licence - all he had to do was show he could double clutch. At that time a chauffeurs licence was what now a day is heavy rigid licence.
