:D
An oldie but a goodie.
But the irony, Taliban was not a feature in the Iraq war but, like the subtitled Iraqi, we westerners lump them all (Persians, Arabs, Paki's, etc.) together as being foreign and incomprehensible. So now that video is of Talibanis and not Iraqis. Sorry but I find that really funny. :D
I've noticed a number of US programmes that have been subtitled and I've thought "What the hell for?"
Then I realised the sub-titles were for British people who spoke very clear English. (There are a few Pommie reality programmes (e.g., cop shows) on TV where I have extreme difficulty understanding the "guests".)
I recall my boss' Australian wife telling me she rang the NSW Health Dept. and the phone was answered by an Indian woman. After a while, the Indian complained she couldn't understand my boss' wife - yet she'd be one of the clearest speaking people I know. :D
