Don't know what's worse in that, the sand (it is sand, right?) getting picked up by the updrafts caused by those stupidly placed tower blocks, or the fact that the whole water front has been uglified by tall ugly tower blocks. :mad:

That's what I was confused about. The surf didn't look aggressive or rough enough to generate that much spindrift.
The worst case, even worse than sand then, is that it is the water laden wind that is being forced up by the towers, cooling, and turning into mist. A man-made rain shadow. :(
Pretty sure it's water vapour. I saw it recently somewhere else.
