Bring over your 90's

I did and just regret i did not bring over both of mine that i had in the Uk.

But throw a soft top kit in the back of one of the 90s before you come over. Belive me you will use it over here. My 90 has the back rolled up all year round and the roof off for 6 months of the year .And belive me car crime is no where near what it is in the Uk

Here is my 1995 300 Tdi 90 that i bought over here 3.5 years ago

I now have two , a 90 and a 110 and unlike the Uk they fit in garages here in Aus :D Oh and there is no stupid bull bars rules

I now live on the southside of Brisbane and loving it and been here for 4 years and will not be moving back to the Uk ever.

Check out carsales.com.au it will give you an idea of the price of cars over here, they are very expensive.

You might want to think about getting a higher value car and bringing it with you (makes the cost of shipping worth while), something like a P38a HSE or P38a DS.

Check out the cost of a shipping container to put the cars and lots of other stuff into. I was looking at getting a tractor shipped over in a container and it was a lot less than 5 000 pounds.

agreed its 12 months and why would you want to bring a peacie crap like a P38 with you . Best left behind more hassle than they are worth

Cost me $5000 for a 20' container from Southampton to Brisbane Door to door . The car was in there with our furniture and the rest of our crap . The insurance for the whole container was another $3000 . The car cost us $1400 import duty and GST . And $450 for cleaning . Then $275 for compliance plate and inspecion.

That was pretty much it but that was Nov 2005

Yes you can, you just have to pay GST on it's landed value if you have owned it for less than 12 months.

mm even if you have owned it for more than 12 months you still have to pay GST on the landed Value. We had owned our 90 for 5 years before it came here still had to pay GST on the Value of the car

Still does not mean you can import a car which you have not owned or lived with for less than 12 months

I was waiting for it Ali any pom that wants to come here and says anything about 90's you crack out that same photo :lol2:

Please mate at least take a new photo if this is now going to be come a ritual.:p :D

No you can't. To bring it in as a personal import you will need to be able to prove 12 months ownership and use.
