In NSW the cars only have to comply with the rules off the day they where built , not any new rules/ emision tests etc, so a 1960's SII would not need seat belts and the braking test would be far more lenient than that off a 2000-6 defender( hardest thing is to stop in a straight line). thats Australia wide and until they change the rules for the application of ADR's its not going to change.

the greenies tried it on to get the ADR's bought up to speed for emission control and it never even got past the lower house.

i would ask why the people should have to suffer for a Labor governments financial incompetence, but its because some people were stupid enough to vote labor into government on both state and federal levels.....
