I have to agree with Lucy 18/100 sounds about right - to fairly good if it is in city traffic. yes extractors will help (and it makes it sound even better) I cant quanitfy exactly how much it helped but the snorkle I added to mine (disco 94) has helped, probably because it is getting cooler outside air. I haven't chipped mine but from what I have read and heard will help as well.

Normal things like ensure you have good leads and plugs and solid earth so you get a fat spark, clean air filter and oil as well.

Finally the hardest (for me ) is to drive with a gentle right foot, I tend to have a heavy right foot and I get crap economy because of it, but I have fun so it's a trade off.

Driving style is the greatest influence on economy. I get 500k for under 90L, round town.
If you don't like trucks, stop buying stuff.

Check your vacuum advance diaphragm. This is probably perished by now due to age and will cause excesive fuel consumption.

    18L is good.

Put it on gas, if you are in SA go see a guy called Jilden Reichart in Crafers West.
He is a whizz on Landy conversions, did 3 of mine.

After rebate and using a tested tank, cost me $150 dollars to fit a top system. Never back fired nothing and will cut your your fuel bill in half.

He will change leads and plugs to better suit gas, advance timing and does generally a fantastic job for little money.
    Say Frank send you.

I must warn though, he is a bit eccentric.
