possible side effects of playing in mud

    Hi guys,
Went playing in some mud holes the other day just up the road from where I live.(before you's all ask--there's no pics)

Gave the beast a wash yesterday before i went to work-last night(actually this morning)when I left work to come home, the handbrake seemed to stick on somewhat. The side of the carparl where I parked a has the slightest downhill slope,so that when I have released the h/brake,the car will start rolling.Last night it didn't.It needed a push as in acceleration.

After a few minutes, the h/brake had released itself from the shoe.Drove home with no other problems.

Could I have got water into the housing when I was trying to get all the mud from underneath the car?

    Thanks

Chances are that the mechanism is sticking or you can have oil leaking into the handbrake & causing the shoes to stick to the drum.

Drop the rear shaft & pop the drum off. If it's pretty mucky inside you might need to remove everything & give it a good clean out.

I need to do this every couple of years on my RR.
