Is that a 2.6L or 3.0L 6???
The book said it was fitted with a "high powered" 6, so I always thought it was a holden or valiant...
From memory its a rover 6 cylinder out of a car?
Just did a web search and came up with this site for all the Leyland fans out there
Videos & Other Products
About the same time the first west east crossing following the tropic was also made. There was a film about it so that too may also turn up.
Difference was it was a Leyland promotion effort and they drove a Mini. From a distant memory think it was Evan Green and someone with a Polish sounding name.
That has made a faint bell ring!
I think the person with the Polish sounding name may be the one who started the solar vehicle challenge (starting in Darwin), among many other 'adventures'. I can't think of his name at this moment (I haven't heard it mentioned for a long time).
Could it be Hans Torlstrup or similar? As I said, just a faint bell ringing!
Hans Thrulstrop? bad spelling but hes still around did a lot of stuff in the 70,s and 80,s google him interesting fellow.
