I was driving a 240 Volvo some years back, I was passed at a great rate of knots by an SL/R 5000 (or clone), just 100 metres before the exit from a motor way. We both took the exit, which took us onto a winding, uphill road. The kid driving looked barely old enough to be out of school and was obviously scared of the car he was driving. I knew the road well, it did look rather humourous, a quick V8 getting a 3-400 metre lead on the straights, only to be pushed hard by a 2.3 litre Volvo, round every bend. His eyes looked like dinner plates, in the mirror.
If you don't like trucks, stop buying stuff.

    As for being overtaken. TOYOTAS.
Mainly cruisers and lux's. I can't tell you how many times I've been travelling to Sydney and come up on one of the above doing 90, they've been doing 90 for miles. I go past them and the sky must fall in on them, Oh My God I've been overtaken by a Land Rover. Must overtake... After a few K's I'm catching up to them doing 90 again.
It can happen 4 times between Bathurst and Lithgow.
On one occasion it was a red P plater (90k limit) in a triton, he was doing his 90, over many k's I caught him and went past on an overtaking lane "Land Rover - must overtake" so he got in front again and slowed to 90...next overtaking lane I came up beside him and he accelerated and I just let him come with me...as we went over the crest I blew my horn to get his attention and gave him the (no one thinks big of you) little finger thereby distracting him from the fact that his lane was just about to end..
    He didn't overtake me again..

lol,,,dont you just love fools and idiots,,,

It amazes me how many "older" blokes are at this level of personality,,,
Im stuffed as to how they got, and have retained their licences,,,

The biggerst problem I see is that they are teaching their kids to do exactly the same thing,,,
    Rude,,no Manners,,,Inconsiderate,,,Impatience,,,no Forethought,,,
and this of course is leading to whats becoming one of the biggest problems we are now facing,,,Road Rage,,,
And according to the news yesterday morning,,,Melbourne seems to be leading the way,,,

I've had quite a few insidences like this, and I recall one when I had my 84 Jag,,,
Driving between Tallangatta and Wodonga, this guy hasselled me, so being in a good safe fast car,, I gave him a lesson in how to pass, and then keep on going on,,AT SPEED,,,

Having the UHF helps heaps on the major Hwys if you know the areas,, so if you pass someone and they do the repass-slowdown thing, you can take them again and cruise at speed,,,most people are scared to speed for any real distance,,,

HAHAHA but I gave him a pleasant wave as I went past.
I now drive a Prado myself and couldn't give 2 hoots who overtakes me in what, never have done, but as others have said the annoying barstewards who go past and then slow down are the ones I hate especially the Asian chap who did it in his REXTON of all things, on the freeway recently.
    Happy motoring.

I just pray that happens one day to me with one of these idiots that come up behind you, flash their lights till you pull over and then roar off in to the distance way over the speed limit. Mainly big black Landcruisers and Captivas ( see below ) . Im just waiting for the day when I pass one of them up the road pulled over by a rozzer. Lots of toots and waves in order I think.

Now i've noticed these Holden soft roader things, (what do they call them Captiva or something ? ). The drivers of those all seem to think they are drving Formula 1 cars on the Grand Prix track.

I too now drive a Prado ( looking for an old Landy as a project car hence why I hang around here ). But I still wave to Land Rovers ( well maybe not plain jane Discos or D3s - modded ones I will ).

Some morons will anything to gain 1 car length, i will always let someone in if they indicate and wait for a gap but not for DH's who think 1 single flash is enough notice or those that will drive in the emergency lane just to push in front of you. I have always been a laid back driver but some of these fwits make it hard so i now i am an assertive but not agressive driver. I've never had an accident and only had 1 speeding ticket in 20 years which i had waived .

Im just annoyed with people who continually overtake then pull in front of you and slow down as soon as a corner comes up.I will usually just re overtake them and make sure they dont do that again lol.But it think young fellas in lux's and patrol drivers hate it,until i come to a corner and dont see them again.

The mighty Disco has had a major service and is running very well at the moment, so a few smarties might get a little surprise if they get in my road.

Well if we are talking about people not letting you merge...
I was parked at a bottle shop on the exit of a major carpark one friday evening. Started up and tried to back out into the traffic flow that was exiting the car park. No gaps and no bugger would let me in.
A big gap came up so I started to reverse and the moron coming up had to accelerate and close me out.
    RIGHT!!!
Low range, forward over the car park edging.
Across a bit of grass, step down onto the foot path, another big step down onto the road.
    Then the sweet bit......
The moron had to give way to me as I idled passed the driveway in low low.
I gave him a nice wave though.
