So, he's possibly going to look better than he does now - bonus. :)
If he grows a beard, he could use it as a scarf in the S2a.

I remember those blocks!!! :D
I used to love building stuff out of them, buildings, houses etc back in primary school :p
Pass on my congratulations from this side of the globe.
Wow - I remember fooling with those blocks in 1969!
When somone says 10 cubed = 1000, I still visualise those funny little blocks.
Cool scallops - very cool:cool:
Wow.
Sounds like a Fields medal candidate.
Hey Scallops.
Something to be VERY proud of.
ENJOY:cool::cool::cool::cool:
Andrew
That's so cool Scallops :) I was taught maths using those blocks and remembering it being a defining moment in my learning as I finally thought maths was fun using these things. So next time you talk/email him, tell him thanks from me :)
By the way equally as cool as all of this is, having a Granddad named "Zoltan Dienes" rocks and as if it couldn't get any cooler he's from "Wolfville" !!!
Respect :BigThumb::BigThumb:
Cheers,
Very impressive!!!
On a related note, a friend of mine is a mathematician at Griffith Uni, and was the first indigenous aussie to get a PhD in Maths or Science. He is working on improving the way Maths and Stats are taught to indigenous kids...
That's wonderful. Perhaps you might like to mention the Dienes structured learning program to him, if he is not already aware of it. Grandpa's learning techniques have been shown to work across all cultural and language barriers, so why not with our Nunga brothers and sisters? :)
