    4wd parks in NSW?

    Hi All,
I keep seeing a lot of interesting 4wd parks popping up in threads now, some I would love to visit but there just a bit to far away so I thought I would post up to find out if anyone knew of some around NSW in the Sydney-Newcastle area, I've heard of one somewhere near Branxton but I havnt been able to find much information on it.

Does anyone know if any 4wd parks around NSW?

    Thanks,

    Mick.

There is also Emu Creek west of Casino
Emu Creek Extreme Retreat Maps NSW & QLD -

The one your thinking of Mick is motorcycles only now I think, it's near Cesnock.

There was Binnacrombie near Oberon, but I'm pretty sure that is also now motorcycles only too.

Levuka near the QLD/NSW border as well.

    Cheers Baz.

The one near Branxton is Mirannie Mountain Wilderness Park.

    Ring Lloyd first (see pic).

At Brankston take 2nd right to Elderslie (before you get to Branxton shopping centre). Turn left Elderslie then turn right when you reach road from Singleton to Gresford. Turn off to left at farm gate about 200 m past Glendon Brook community hall. From memory there is a sign on gate for 'Extreme Sports". Probably less than 1/2 hour from Branxton.

Follow track through about 4 gates to Lloyd's house (BTW he drives a white Defender trayback). There are a couple of turn offs you have to take - look for sign on gates and reflective arrows. There is one sharp turn off to left just past one gate, then immediately through another gate - if you miss this turn and go straight ahead you come to a creek crossing.

Whats this trip in January? I would to check out roverpark some time for sure.

Its a bit of a bugger about the motorcycles only parks, but no doubt we will see more of these parks turn up as state forest tracks get locked down....

The caravan park at Glouster had a little 4wd park attached, well it was just a bunch of tracks on there land that on very steep country you could get access to when staying at the park,,.. we had a little look around there a while ago, there wasnt alot of tracks but it was a bit of fun. Im not sure if they still let people use this, it was about 2 yrs ago when we checked it out I think.

I have only driven some of the tracks. It was 2 weeks after major flooding and some tracks were still slippery. Far too slippery to look at the steep tracks that would be of most interest.

I also haven't looked at the rocky creek area (up from the camping area) where some people go.

In all not a large enough area to have more than a short day (but as I said I could not go to the steeper tracks) - but Lloyd likes to have a chat and if you don't take measures to get away, he will talk about yowies (which are up the back apparently ) and other things for hours.

It's a working property, so best to ring after he comes in from work for the evening.
