    It is Aussie, and it was geographically very close to the Chambers Pillar guess.

    My solution

    a communal owls nest -> Home of Parliment
    Pillar of rock -> core sample -> middle of (ie Australia)

    Lambert Centre in the centre of Australia (nr Finke).

    It's been almost an hour, I am bored in the office and no new cryptic riddle yet so here you go: even though I didn't earn the right by guessing one.

    I am an Australian landmark but I was fortified a couple of years after trying to score a 10 in 1979.
