Believe me, you can never have enough tools when you go out in the bush - I think I've used just about all I carry at some stage or another.
I have and complete 1/2in, 3/8 and 1/4in drive socket sets and spanner set metric/AF, a complete screwdriver set, Tork and allen key set, shifting spanners 100mm to 250mm, viscuos fan spanner and locking tool, impact screwdriver, mallet, extendable magnet and of coarse all the pliers and cutters and so on.
You never know what you might use and the day you want that 4mm socket is the day you hope someone else didn't down size his tools:D

I have so many spare and duplicate tools (and toolboxes to put them in) that I can outfit all my cars and bikes. :D
I think I have 7 or 8 (maybe more) socket sets in 1/4", 3/8", 1/2" and 3/4" drive. There are two large multidrawer tool chests on trolleys, inumerable screwdrivers, and don't ask how many pairs of pliers of various types, etc.
I got rid of a lot of stuff to my daughter but she says she doesn't need any more.
I remember the shed pic with the plane in it, must have been blocking the tools. Sounds like it's time for a visit. Are you going away any time soon?:angel:Quote:

I must admit I carry far more tools than I ever need for my car, but then you don't know whether it will be your car or somebody elses that you'll be using them on.
I do go on a club trip at least once a month and its always nicer to be able to get everyone home than laeve someone behind because they didn't have the right size spanner.
Don't forget a small mirror, a magnetic pickup with the long flexible handle and a piece of plastic tube for listening to noises... and a tube of handcleaner;)
with all the prep work I did for the cape and all the gear I was carrying I used everything I took with the exception of the tirfor, the airbag jack and the can of areostart.
Got a feeling the main alternator bolt is one of those funny star spannery things, same as for the rear seats.

Besides ring and open spanners and 3/8 socket set I always have
.....Vise grips ...big and small sized.
......electricians shears
..... pop riveter and a range of rivets
..... battery drill converted to run off car 12V and a range of sharp drills.
----multimeter
Mainly used for camping stuff rather than car stuff but those are the tools I use the most.
As for materials
...range of screws bolts nuts, hose clamps
... couple of metres of hoop iron
.... small roll aluminium flashing
... roll of utility wire
....lots of gaffa tape.
....silicon
you can bodgy up a lot of repairs with those.
But yes the RACv Extra Care card is always packed too :D
