I usually ride a mountainbike if that helps ;)
I know someone who commutes on one of these though. It sort of looks like a motorbike if you squint hard enough:

I'd like to get a motorbike licence but I'd be too **** scared to ride daily in Melbourne CBD traffic. Think I'd prefer touring outside of Melbourne, maybe I could find a Royal Enfield diesel for up Strathbogie:D
My current weapon of choice is 2003 Jeep Grand Gherokee (150kms/day @ 15l/100km) but soon to be my 1981 Rangie as soon I fix some leaking seals, get it tuned and sell the missus car (she then gets the Jeep).
Surely one of these would be preferable?

Yanmar makes a bunch of small direct injection diesels which would be great in a bike... (even better with a turbo).
If it's close by I ride my pushie, if it's close by and I'm in a rush or need to carry stuff or people, my 53 Willys jeep, if it's longer, my 91 Disco on 33s, if it's longer still, my 04 Hilux but I'm trying to sell it.
Daily driver, as I work from home I have a choice as general runabout which depends on the weather, and how long the trip may be. So mostly 1988 HJ75 ute, The 2a is off reg at the moment waiting for me to do some work. so the other choices are, 1924 and 1949 these choices need fine weather and a tail wind,
Cheers
Rob
