'94 Corolla AWD wagon: economical but no power.
'91 Disco 3 door V8i: plenty of power but not so economical
2006 Giant Talon mountain bike: Most economical of all... only powerful downhill or when in the back of the disco.

At the moment I am using my 1999 Suzuki Bandit to get to work (3km). Before I injured myself seven weeks ago (herniated disc) I was riding my Giant mountain bike, the 3ks to work is all up hill so quite a bit of work, but the 3ks home is therefore downhill. If I ride the pushie now I struggle to walk for about five minutes afterwards but slowly recovering so hopefully soon will be back riding it.

Wifey rides a 1996 Suzuki Bandit to work but was driving the Defender until recently, as parking sucks at her new work.

Now the Defender has ceased to be the wife daily driver,

    she has a 2008 Mazda 3
he has a 2009 Toymota HiLux courtesy of work.

The Defender's still doing it tough though with 2 kids learning to drive
