It was only about two years ago Skaife was whinging about Ford dominance and was calling for them to be slowed.
It was only one Ford, Mark Winterbotom's the rest were in a mix with the Holdens.
A fair while ago, I'm guessing around the mid 90's Ford were dominating the sprint races so the governing body decided to slow the Fords by trimming the front spoiler.
This was done between the end of the sprint races and Sandown/ Bathurst.
As sprint racing and endurance are totally different this screwed the Fords in the enduros.
Rules should not be changed mid season.
Dave.
i will still be watching during the day and want to get there someday. :)
however it would be very interesting to see it opened to other brands, even bmw, jaaag or mercs would be good to see if only v8's allowed. :D
Bring on the annual battle of the taxis.
May they be lots of mayhem,a close finish and the FORDS winning again:p:p:p:p
Instead of the minis or what ever they are using for celeb races this year they should have real taxis racing with real taxi drivers that cant speak english or get to a destination in a short distance.
Looking forward to sunday:cool::cool::cool::cool:

There was one year, guessing late 80's early 90's when a road registered Volvo raced.
It drove up from Melb, raced and then drove home.
Didn't do very well and was considered a hazard by other drivers due to its low speed.
I can't remember whether the driver was wearing a hat.
Dave.
Nothing wrong with a good Volvo pilot Mr Whippy.
I even wear a Volvo hat:eek::eek::eek::eek:
I get paid to steer this:p:p:p:p

Hey Mick
You aint seen me in action.
Although the grader can only attain 55kph,with articulation one can "crab" down the road blocking it from any passing manover;););).Also with a smooth operation of the articulation into and out of a corner one can give the impression the grader is "drifting" it looks spectacular,a trick learnt from my dear departed mate Fat Baz.
