I've already jumped in and ordered some photography gear:) Firestone bags are another item I'm considering. Price of shocks seems too high to import, but I'm still looking.

$599 U.S for 4 bilstein shocks and 4 heavy duty genuine land rover springs
I dont know what postage is.
Bilstiens on there own are 360 I think for four.
I'm getting procomps someone on here has just paid 600Aus I'm currently looking at $197aus without postage...but even with postage its not going to amount to 600dollars..I'm just waiting for them to get back to me with a quote for shipping.
I kow that shipping is more expensive to you put you might always be able to sweet talk erich as they are heading up there in Nov:)
don't get too greedy :p
they said that last year and while i was in Colorado skiing it was climbing. so i drew up my wish list and waited and them BOOM! it started sliding, next thing 85c (so pulled out of my order) and then 64c :(
if it does go up tho i still have that wish list somewhere :banana:
The yanks have a tiny wee problem... they are frantically printing money to try (unsuccessfully) at this stage to stave off deflation (prices falling), and as a result lots of people are mucho annoyed at them! Thus, their currency is quickly devaluing (also good to stop deflation) but that causes lots of other problems... if they put their interest rates up that will help their currency but not help their recovery.... blah blah blah.
If there is a shock (like a major stock market correction which is probably likely) then we could see USD flying back home very quickly which could result in a very rapid appreciation of USD.
So, if you have something that you want you might be able to hang off a bit, but if/when there is a large shock order immediately. :)
Rovers north
I'm yet to hear back about shipping quotes though..will post them up here if I hear back from them
it may be good news if you want to buy some cheap trinkets from the US, however consider this....
....every 1c increase in the value of the $AU against the $US means a loss of $16,000 for each $AU1m you have invested in the US .....
....and exporters will be hurting
p.s. i am about to order a detroit locker for the rear of my D2 at the exchange rate now.
