P.S. Noice Defender!!:p:D
Very happy for you - they are beautiful vehicles, without doubt.
True......there's one parked next to my D2 under the carport all the time, but i recon the D2 looks just a touch nicer....:p
Also, once you get a real good look at it,if its got surface rust on some parts of the chassis, return it to the stealers & you may be lucky enough to get the complete underbody professionally sealed with the best product available free.
Happy Defendering
Its a very nice looking unit there mate,,, :)
Congrats on the aquisition,,,
Cheers Chops
Looks fabulous. Now to start on the mods.....
What colour is it? Can't tell if it is dark green or dark grey in the photo.
Its Santorii Black, The Metalic looks cool in the sun.
Did about 200k today going up and down to the coast, drove up the mountain ( Lower Beechmont) very nice, cruising on the motorway is easy, sist nicely at 120 without too much noise, I am surprised at the power actualy, has no problems keeping up or passing anything toda, and feel a bit gutsy when you put your foot down in third.
Someone mentioned on another thread about the aircon, it is really good, very cold but its only in the middle, could do with a vent on the door side, We got it sorted today after my elbow was freezing up, just stuck it on the windscreen and foot well, kept the iside nice and cool without freezing you.
Getting a lot of looks from people, it really does look impressive, one guy in a discovery stopped as he past in a car park to tell me how much he liked it.
I love my Defender...
Having problems finding a name for it, been through some today but nothing feels worthy..
the inlaws have a hilux parked next to it and it looks such a girly car now, they dont see it that way of course but after a couple of beers last night I think I told them a few times
Anyway will get more pics of it up soon.
cheers..
Patrick
Nice Defender mate! Welcome to the group of enlightened ones...once you drive a Defender there's no going back. :D
Ahhhhh blind love I remember it well. Back 1996 after waiting five months and not taking one for a test drive I picked up a Defender 300 TDi. Sold two emaculate Series III's and saw the bank for the rest. All was fine for the first week. Then back to the dealer for gear box problems.:(. For the next few years I started to wonder why I got rid of my two fantastic Series III's. Then in 2003 I purchased a 'Toymota' :o, it was quiet, reliable, I could hear the radio at speeds above 30kph and it would tow our van with ease. BUT did it have character........no! The idea was to sell the Defender  But I could not bring myself to do this. You see our Defender had become part of the family, and after all we had been through together how could I say goodbye. 'It's never over with a Rover'.
Enjoy.............................
