    Cheap 5w-30 oil

A new Supercrap store has opened in Glen Waverley (eastern suburbs of Melb) today. Corner of High Street Rd and Blackburn Rd.
They have a special on Castrol Edge 5w-30 at $29.90 each until sold out. Limit 3 per customer

This is the third time they'r run a great special on the Castrol 5W30, I bought a heap the first time. Not sure what's going on, I was wondering whether Castrol was getting out of that range??

    Cheers

    Oils Aint Oils.

I have always been of the opinion that cheap oils are full of detergents. I have used a good quality (read expensive) oil, such as Shell Helix or the like, also a good quality oil filter such as Ryco. Someone educate me if I am wrong. No I am not a salesman for those brands I am using them as examples, but I don't believe in putting crap oil in my vehicle.

Not normally, no. But a lot of the oil companies (Shell included) bring out a range of oils at various prices. All I am saying is, if you are going to shop on price, be carefull.

I don't normally shop on price either, but I remember reading somewhere that Castrol Edge is the recommended oil, and is the oil I normally use. It's generally around $55 a bottle, so not a particularly cheap oil. Hence, the good deal.

Interesting. The opening specials brochure said it was not available at any other store.
