I put a set of reins on mine, but its still slow as through the bends and I always have to surface to breathe.

Ok, looks like the problem was the auto skimmer valve. It seemed ok but I noticed it wasn't opening so I washed it out under the tap and no more getting stuck. I think the issue was too much suction meaning the Kreepy would stick itself to the wall when stationary instead of rolling over.

    Barracuda

The Barracuda I have does exactly the same thing, it has driven me to drink!
When it isn't stuck in the corner, its doing the same pattern around the pool. I have swapped the hoses around, cleaned the filter and still it persists, so then layed out the hose in the sun to get the bends out, that helped a bit.
Maybe I was supplied with the female type?
