We get most of our parts (when a dealer is the only other option) from Purnells in Blakehurst and Trivetts Parramatta if Purnells hasn't got it.

I got a damn good deal on my Defender 110 from Purnells (King Georges Road at Blakehurst) in July. Far better than I could have got from Trivetts (I must admit I didn't try Alto due to previous D2 purchase where they were far above the price of the other dealers).

John (the Sales Manager) or Mark are very pleasant guys to deal with.

    Good luck with the purchase.

Well things did not progress well at all. I'm a bit put off by some of the Land Rover dealers now No names mentioned for now
Seems if you don't rock up with a suit and tie etc you get looked down on
It was bloody hot in Sydney so I wasn't getting dressed up I can tell you. They thought we were just tire kickers I guess. Got the sly looks and all Wrong way to treat my wife and I. My sister works in sales etc so is going to give the dealer a major attitude adjustment on my behalf.
My wife was very offended by this so we went else where as a result. As things may turn out Land Rover have lost a sale as a result of this. Wonder why the sales are down
These blokes need to be more human I can tell you. They had no idea I'm from a larger property etc so have crashed and burned. I don't see why I need to go up and point out who or what I am compared to their regular customers let alone anyone else. Not good

As a result of all this rot my wife is now very keen on the new V6 Variable vane turboed diesel Jeep grand Cherokee Really nice sales person, loved our kids and test drive was not a problem. I must say I was very impressed with this thing as well ,500 nm of torque at low rpm it gets moving! It drives very well and has a 3.5 ton towing capacity. My kids also love it We have a little dilemma on our hands here

This is why I need to become an LR salesman when I retire! I wonder if I can?

Are you a snobby arsehole p38?

    If yes, then you can.

Had a similar experience with local LR dealer, rocked up in a cruiser trayback to check out a new defender in my work duds (sparky) and got looked at funny, sales didn't even leave the office, went in and asked some questions and for the pamplets, got basically thrown the pamphlets and shown the door.

Was only semi serious and checking it out, but still, I think I should have been treated as a serious customer?

Maybe next time I'll go in dressed like steve irwin, see if they treat me like someone who is going to buy a defender then?

Maybe even a pith helmet, just to make sure?

    .
Well I thought that as well but not in those exact words however

I would hope not all of them are like that.

This is one of those situations where a happy customer will tell a few about a good experience. The unhappy customer will tell hundreds about a bad experience.

The worst part is my wife seems to hold a grudge with this lot for now

When I lived near Trivetts (They in Parramatta, I in North Parramatta), basically they wouldn't talk to me so that I could buy a vehicle. It really was that bad. I even came in one day with my parents to show them what I wanted to buy - salesman comes out and say hello. Dad says its my son that is looking to buy, salesman says if you need me I'll be in my office. The sad thing is that I then went to Alto Artarmon and the salesman was excellent and I bought off the lot.
    Cheers

So long as the customer has good grammar and can spell better than I do it could well work out

Very disturbing you needed to take the ol man to get any attention. I'm 42 and have some grey hair now so should look senior enough for this lot. One of the dealers you have mentioned are close to being the culprit here

Bit sad this as I'm running out of time for new with the investment allowance. I really don't have time to be stuffed around any more as to much time and travel is involved

If I go new it wont be Land Rover anymore Unless the culprit is willing to send one up here for a few days

    Maybe next time

Looks like MN Triton luxo pack or Jeep Grand Cherokee ATM I'll buy what makes the wife and kids happy in effect.
Still have my Rangies,Series and 4BD1T120" so I'm OK with that

Funny thing is I'm favoring the Jeep atm. At least its got a bit of euro in it The engine and trany is Merc. Platform is Jeep. Not a bad mix. Down fall is IFS for serious off road use.
