As per reference below AEG may be a copy of Milwaukee or vice versa. Contrary to belief Milwaukee are not American tools as most people think, but have always been Hong Kong / Chinese. My brother actually sells power tools. Milwaukee are actually a stand alone company and only manufacture a fairly small range of tools compared to some. Not for a minute saying they manufacture every component, practically no one does. There are quite a number of so called manufacturers that sub out specific manufacturing either totally or partially. I remember my brother saying something about US/Japanese/Chinese based companies sharing some manufacturing base, but can not recall who shared what. But even so, products made in the same factory for brand names are often made to their specs under licence, so even products that actually come out of the same factory are not equal.
    Milwaukee

    Ryobi

    DeWalt

    Makita

    Bosch/Metabo

Hey, was not having a shot at all. Just posting some info for anyone interested. Generally I am not sure if I would buy a Milwaukee Drill as they are an unknown quantity to me but the Sawzal or recip saws are the best on the market. As for cordless drills, Metabo or Bosch are my pick if you have the $. Ryobi (even though made under Techtronic banner) I have found to be rubbish cordless drills, but apparentlly they have borrowed from AEG and Milwaukee design lately. Makita is my pick for corded drills and grinders with DeWalt a close second. Have a Dewalt Hammer drill as I got a really good clearance price on it and it has taken a flogging over the last 7 years and still is perfect.
