Tassie Guys....Help please (non LR question)

Hi guys, heading over for a naughty w/e for the wifes birthday. Just wondering how long it takes to drive(on the highway) to Strahan from Hobart with a little stop off at Lake St Clair(?) for a pic stop.

We did Strahan to Hobart back in August, it's an easy days drive as long as the weather is OK. In our case it was bad all the way until we climbed the mountains out of Queenstown, from there to Hobart was nice and fine. The roadhouse at Derwent Bridge does good food.

Mind you I used to work with a guy in New Norfolk who's wife wouldn't let them go to Hobart (35km) without staying overnight as it was such a long drive.

When I worked for the Hydro people used to travel home to Hobart after night shift from Queenstown (50km from Stahan) each week.

Strahan to Hobart is about 3 hours drive with stops for fuel etc only. So add the amount of time you need to stop in between.

2nd that - there's some fantastic waterfalls not too far from the main road & the walk up to the Franklin River lookout is well worth it too .

There is a lot of useful tourist info available on Tasmania, including this small sample of guides to driving times.
Driving Times and Distances - Discover Tasmania
    Pure Tasmania - Driving Times
    Guide to Tasmania

It isn't the driving time that is hard to get information about. It is the time it will take for all the photo stops that is harder to estimate.
