I am surprised about the niggles over the price.
The 3dr Prado is $56-66k
The 2dr Pajero is $47.5-55k
Admittedly these are both probably more "refined" (i.e. less NVH) and have a larger engine.
The Wrangler 2dr is $35.6k in equivalent spec (diesel manual). However the (petrol only) wrangler rubicon is closer spec to the 90 IMO. The wrangler gets a (badly needed) lift, some bash plates and lockers. The 90 has ETC and doesn't need most of the bash plates due to better clearance. The rubicon is $40.6k.
Also, the price difference between the 90 and 110 of $4k seems about right. The have the same drivetrain, the only difference is about 4' of aluminium, steel, glass and trim. It also seems fairly well in-line with the differences between other 2dr and 4dr models.
However, $8k would buy a lot of upgrades for a diesel 6sp manual wrangler.
I think that if LR sold the 90 in soft top form (a-la the NAS 90) it would do very well with the right advertising/marketing. However I am not sure if the hardtop 90 will do too well 2nd time around.
