Now there be gettin ready for the fire season and then there is GETTIN READY.Most more serious people about getting there homes fire safe might buy a fire pump etc.But a bloke a few houses up has got him self not one but two fire trucks, now that`s getting into the whole idea of fire safe. They are fairly old ones but still all working, all usable fire trucks.Me I`m just adopting plan B -BOLT and real quick.

Hope he knows how to drive them, and how quickly you can empty the tanks when things start to get a bit out of control. You got the right idea get out!
It is a terrifying thing standing in front of a serious fire, even when your trained to fight them and have a dozen or so fire trucks with you.
In the past many people ignored the warnings, even some of the prepared one's with all the right gear panic at the last moment due to the heat, smoke and noise of the approaching fire. sadly many of these never made it.
Lets hope the weather is a bit kinder this year and the nut cases that light them stay away.
We have lots of inquests and enquirys but little or no proactive results after every major fire. Roadsides and bushland is not cleaned up and safe refuges are not maintained or are forgotten.
