    In to old chainsaws ???

Found an old chainsaw while cleaning out the shed at mums a few years ago after the step father passed away.
When I found this saw she didn't know he had it and I think it came from the hard rubish collections, one mans trash is another mans treasure.
Put a temporary fuel line on and she started , leaks from fuel tap gasget but rest is servicable.
    Sits on display now.
Did some reserch as marked Mobilco who turn out to have imported saws and then sold through agents(best as I can work out)
    Found this site..
Chainsaw Collectors and "borrowed this pic"(Thanks)

It's a AS Super produced in Germany by AS Schefenacker some time between 1958 and the early 1960's.
They only did three chainsaw models.

    Cheers.

Not balanced like a modern one.
    No chain brake,
    No chain catcher,
    No anti vibration,

But as it's almost heritage does that mean I can cut down heritage listed trees without my chaps, helmet or earuffs

    Cheers.

Either that is a very rare chainsaw or manufacturers were a dime a dozen.
This is a handy website for looking up models- look under "chainsaws " & there is only an AS Motors from Germany with one model .

    nice mate,

If your ever down around Braeside area, got to Ace Saws on Governer Rd. They have got a great museum type set up, up stairs from the workshop area. Its really good.
Old saws are cool. we had a big ol swing saw on a property near the Grampians once, awsome thing. ended up using the blade as a bbq plate.
