I'll go the full Danish menu here. Roast goose and/or pork with crackling, caramelised potatoes, braised red cabbage, dumplings & sauerkraut cooked in the pan juices, onion gravy made with the pan juices after the dumplings and sauerkraut have been cooked. Home made ice cream made with Cherry Heering and glace fruits. Carlsberg Elefant for pre-dinner drinks, akvavit through the meal (or wine for the cowardly), Danske cherry vodka with dessert, and post prandial drinks are more akvavit and Elefant.

We usually do a bit of everything, roast chicken, pork and beef as well as ham with vegies but it has to have gravy.

A year or 2 ago due to a lack of oven space I ended up cooking the roast potatoes in the camp oven on the camping stove, so good they would have made a jellyfish hard.

If its 39deg on Christmas day like it is here today then I thinks Christmas lunch will be in can form straight out of the esky.
