    I Joined in 1970

    In the profile of some people on this forum it says they joined in 1970.

    In 1970 we didn't have home PC's let alone the internet

    Please explain?

    All comes back to what some operating systems and databases treat a null or zero date as. In many Unix and MS variations this has always been 1/1/1970 although some applications (e.g. Excel) will actually treat it as 1/1/1900.

    I think this was explained a while back as a problem that happened when there was some sort of upgrade a few years ago. The dates were lost and reverted to 1970.

    So it affected everyone who had joined before that upgrade, but I'm not sure when that was.
