You will have to make it easy for Toyotas to get around.
another thing to take into consideration for the build grover is wheel base lengths.
some things a 100'' disco will get up a 90 can struggle on and vise versa. certian placement of holes/logs/boulders can create havoc with different length/makes of 4x4.
same with turning circles, dont make things to tight unless you have a chicken track or the like.
cheers phil
Cheers, i had put this into consideration... seeing we have such a wide range of vehicles... ranging from The Discovery, Range Rover a 109 and 88. Then we have Haflingers and Pinzgauers.
Time will see what is decided on. Seeing there are so many options. The last thing i want to do is build something which only damages my panels on the Disco.
I have been thinking about places it could be, i would like it to be out of view of the house. So i was thinking of utilising a old trail which goes around the back of our house. Which already has some good sections. Only thing would be the random 4x4ers we get on out property getting a sniff of it and coming out when not welcome.
i notice your in newcastle if i get or excavator and bobcat in the next few months i was going to go to merriwa to practice with it maybe i could come help you in return for letting me have my operators tests done there
Its a great idea. All you have yo do is make it happen.
I've thought of doing it here as well. I'd set the coarse up to suit a 100" wheel base:angel: (Rangie Park)
We also have some natural steep land formations with a mix of rocks here.
A lot can be done with a few old power poles or logs, Rocks and Tyres with the help of a compact back hoe or similar.
If you start running small comps etc just keep liability in mind;) Insurance etc.
We have plenty of logs, piles of the things from when we cleared our land. I have also thought making it suit 100" would be best but then i have 88" 109" 87" 59" vehicles..
As for comps, there is NO way i would be doing that as for one i am not the owner of the land i plan on it being a simple private playground much like a swing set... only for 4x4s :)
